Rock Notes

September 2022
Yo world.
It's a nice rainy day here in Sonoma County, "rainy day dream away" as Jimi would say And it's nice to get some rain in September here in the land of perpetual drought.
I am listening to the final mixes of the 14 songs that will comprise The Sorentinos next album right now entitled "If All Goes Well". I got to say I'm a little queasy just saying the word entitled these days! What a world we live in... who could have imagined the shit show that is the daily news cycle? Not me! It takes all you have to see the glass half full. That being said, as a writer there is no shortage of topics to comment on so here comes our 25th album!
I did try to keep my cynical self in check on this record and just try to stay positive ....well mostly. I really like the songs on this record, they are all pretty different from each other in various musical styles, so I guess it's like a normal Sorentinos album...wherever you go there you are! I had a lot of help on this record from Harry Gale and Andre De Channes who both mixed their portion of the record. They each did half of the 14 songs we ended up with, I actually started with 25 songs and then weeded out the ones that didn't fit the narrative that I wanted on this record. I also had a lot of help from Sorentinos past and present, everyone played great parts and you will see the credit section on the record has a few more names that usual.
So we are hoping for an end of October/beginning of November release and maybe even a gig or two when it's time. I will be previewing a few of the songs on the Friday morning show I do with Andre on KRSH in the near future and will put a few up on the website.
that’s enough for now dig you later
... If all goes well Danny S.
